MILLBURY

MILLBURY – Lewis H. Rixham, 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 1st in St. Camillus Health Center.

Lewis’s wife of 75 years, June S. (Mossa) Rixham passed away in 2015.  He leaves four sons, Ronald Rixham of Jefferson, Russell Rixham and his wife, JoAnn of Millbury, Randall Rixham and his wife, Debra of Auburn and Rodney Rixham of Millbury; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Ethel (Faulkner) Rixham; a daughter-in-law, Corinne “Queenie” Rixham; four sisters, Winifred Dunkerly, Jessie Paine, Nellie Willard and Ada Whaley; three brothers, Charles, Albert and Everett Rixham.

Lewis served his country during World War II as a Merchant Marine.  He was a member of the American Legion Dudley-Gendron Post 414 of Sutton and worked at High Carbon Wire Company for 34 years.  Lewis was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He also enjoyed camping and traveling the country with his family.

Family and friends will celebrate and remember Lewis’s life privately.
