Kenneth E. ''Mike'' Russell 87, of Sandcastle Park, Attleboro, MA passed away after a brief illness on Friday, September 4, 2026, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Millbury and residing there for many years. He leaves his wife Joan (Barry) Russell of 66 years. He is also survived by his three children, Michael K. Russell and Laurie Cadorette, of Millbury; William F. Russell, of Sutton; and Ann-Marie Kelly and her husband Stephen of Jefferson; his three grandchildren, Kyle Kelly and his fiancé Neve Mitchell of Spencer; Joshua Kelly and his wife Danielle of Ft. Collins, CO; and Carly Russell and her fiancé Rayan Masamvu of Delray, FL; along with many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was the son of the late, George H. Russell and Josephine (Webber) Russell of Millbury, MA. He was also predeceased by five brothers, Albert Russell, his wife Helen; Harold Russell, his wife Helen; Marshall Russell, his wife Dorothy; George Russell, his wife Rose; Roland Russell, his wife Doris; and three sisters, Josephine Sawyer, her husband Paul; Evelyn Germain, husband Tom; Louise Leary, her husband Donald; and many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth graduated from Millbury High School in 1956 and enlisted in the Marines in August 1956. He served for a ter1n of three years. After his return he married and bought a home in Millbury where they raised their family and resided for 43 years. Kenneth had a love for Cape Cod and bought a home in W. Yarmouth that they shared 14 years of wonderful memories with family and friends. Kenneth's love for summer and warmer temperatures then brought them to purchase a home in Sarasota, FL becoming snowbirds for 21 years. After selling their Millbury home, they settled into their final and last stop, a home in Sandcastle Park in Attleboro that became Kenneth's final resting place for 20 years.
Kenneth was a Teamster and worked for UPS for 38 years, driving the Feeder (double) tractor-trailer trucks to many different states.
Kenneth's hobbies included boating, which he had owned several through the years to catch all the big fish in the Cape Cod waters, hunting, golfing and traveling to many places living his retirement life to the fullest.
Kenneth had a big heart and would lend a helping hand whenever needed, coaching a little league baseball team, clearing snow for his neighbors after snowstorms, fixing anything he could fix.
His real joy and love was spending time with his family and friends. Ken gave his full heart as a father, grandfather, husband and friend. He will be missed by many but left us all great memories to cherish forever.
His family would like to thank all the Visiting Angels, Hospice Nurses, and the Providence Veterans who gave Kenneth ''Mike'' such good care and comfort. We are forever grateful to you all.
Services will be held at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 North Main St., Millbury, MA on Saturday, September 12th with visiting hours to be held from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM. His Funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 PM at St. Brigid Church, 59 North Main Street, Millbury, with burial to follow at Central Cemetery, Millbury.
