Karen Marie Gosselin

Karen Marie (Elie) Gosselin, 77, of Millbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 18, 2026, with her loving grandson by her side.

She leaves behind her children, Kristin Lavoie and Matt Gosselin and his wife, Sadie; her beloved grandchildren, Jeremy Gosselin, his partner, and her “bonus grandson,” Josh Havalotti, as well as Carter Lavoie and Gage Lavoie; her sister, Charlene Elie; and nieces, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 33 years, Adrien J. Gosselin; her siblings, Edward Elie, Jr., Denise Keyes, Celeste Bonica, Jamie Elie, and Joshua Elie; and her parents, Edward and Lorraine (Lafond) Elie.

Karen was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, but lived the majority of her life on Elm Street in Millbury, where she built a home filled with family, memories, and love.

She enjoyed a long and successful career in legal services, beginning as a legal secretary and later becoming an office manager for a large law firm. Later in life, Karen chose a less stressful career in retail, managing Fanny Farmer Candies and later at Christopher & Banks, where she enjoyed meeting and helping people every day.

Karen was fiercely independent and always willing to help anyone in need, yet she was the last person to ask for help herself, never wanting to “bother” anyone. She cherished time with her family, but her grandsons truly were the light of her life. She spoke of them with immense pride, and talking about them was one of the surest ways to bring a smile to her face.

Karen enjoyed day trips to the casino, could practically recite the Hallmark Channel movie lineup from memory, and was, without question, the luckiest cribbage player who ever lived. Her quick wit, independent spirit, generous heart, and love for her family will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to join Karen’s family at the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main St., Millbury, MA 01527, on Wednesday, September 23rd for visitation hours will held from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. followed by a short funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery in Millbury.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
