Josephine Pavini

WORCESTER – Josephine Rita (Mastromattei) Pavini, 89, passed away Thursday, July 31st surrounded by her loving family.

Josephine leaves her husband of 68 years of marriage, Amadeu Pavini; her three daughters, Marie Pavini of Chittenden, VT, Gina Pavini-Small of Celebration, FL and Michelle Pavini of Kissimmee, FL. She is predeceased by her son, Paschal Pavini and a granddaughter, Tara LaRoche. She leaves nine grandchildren: Matthew Pavini, Elisabeth Walsh, Hannah Troiano, Brianna Eilert, Aaron Eilert, Zachary Pavini, David LaRoche, Kayla LaRoche and McKenna Pavini, and 2 great-grandchildren Aden Walles and Dominic Eilert, whom she loved dearly.

Josephine is the daughter of Amato and Teresa (Polselli) Mastromattei and was predeceased by 3 brothers and a sister. She leaves one sister, Elena Kerr of Millbury; many nieces and nephews.

Josephine graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester in 1954 and worked for many years as an administrative assistant at UMass Hospital.

Josephine loved to talk and was very outgoing. She loved to go dancing with her husband especially line dancing and dancing to Italian music. She was a loving caregiver to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will honor and remember Josephine’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday, August 20th from 10 to 11 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. 

Her funeral service will be celebrated following the visitation at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with burial in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
