John F. McPherson

WORCESTER – John F. McPherson, 84, passed away peacefully in UMass Medical Center on July 14th.

John leaves his wife of 43 years, Sara W. McPherson; two children, Aaron McPherson and his wife, Amy of Newton, Padraic McPherson and his wife Rose of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Henry, Spencer, Ali, and Caleb; a sister, MaryAnn Hamilton of Herndon, VA, a brother, Gerald McPherson of Brookfield, WI; along with many nieces and nephews.

John graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1959 and then Central Michigan University in 1965. John first worked as a high school teacher in Williamstown, MA before pursuing a long career in insurance. Later in his career John returned to teaching at Leicester Middle School in Leicester, MA. John enjoyed gardening, exploring nature, fishing, hunting, and motorcycle riding.

John was an active member of the Eight-Point Sportsman’s Club in Sterling, serving several roles at the club including managing their pheasant program.

Most of all John enjoyed spending time with his wife and their two loving golden retrievers, Swayze and Summer.
