Joanna Lynn Brown

SUTTON

SUTTON — Joanna Lynn Brown, 30, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of joy, creativity, and compassion.

She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth K. Kane, and her husband, William Kane Jr.; her father, Eric Brown, and his wife, Jana Johnsen; her siblings, Katherine Brown, Liam Kane, Alex Brown, Quentin and Lily Harrington; her paternal grandparents, Shirley Golightly and George Brown; and her beloved niece, Violet Whallon. A wide circle of extended family and dear friends also mourn her passing. Joanna was predeceased by her infant brother, Connor Kane, and her maternal grandparents, Terrence and Lynn Kellogg.

A graduate of St. Peter-Marian High School in Worcester, Joanna earned her associate’s degree from Quinsigamond Community College. For the past eight years, she brought warmth and light to The Bean Counter cafés in Shrewsbury and Worcester, where she served as a front-of-house lead. Her radiant smile and genuine kindness made countless mornings brighter for customers and coworkers alike.

Joanna lived with a vibrant, untamed spirit. She was joyful, goofy, and endlessly playful. As the eldest sibling, she was a guiding light and cherished confidante, forming unique and lasting bonds with each of her siblings. Her golden blonde hair and her meticulously painted nails were just two of the many ways she expressed her creativity and care. Her artistic talents adorned the walls of her families’ homes, just as her presence lit up their lives. She had a remarkable gift for puzzles and a heart that overflowed with generosity, empathy, and love. Joanna touched everyone she met with her kindness and left an indelible mark on the world around her.

Family and friends will honor and remember Joanna’s life during a visitation on Thursday, November 13th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.
