Janet Mary McGee

MILLBURY - Janet Mary McGee, 83, cherished mother and beloved grandparent, Janet passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter Maura Ross and her husband, Robert, JR. (Bonita Springs, FL) and son Kieran McGee and his wife, Leslie (Holden, MA), her grandchildren Kateri (late), Aidan and Delaney and great-grandson Amari.

Janet was born in Webster, MA in 1940, the only daughter of the late Francis and Antonia (Zlotnik) McGee. She graduated from Oxford High School and pursued her Bachelor of Education at Worcester State College. She resided in Oxford, MA for many years before marrying her husband the late Francis X. McGee.

As an elementary school teacher, Janet spent many years enriching young minds in schools throughout Oxford, Worcester, Millbury and Coventry, CT. After raising her family, Janet became a substitute teacher for Worcester and Millbury schools. Janet is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes church in Worcester and substituted for religious youth education. She enjoyed creating beautiful pieces with hand embroidery and crewelwork as her hobby. 

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janet’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 24^th at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street in Worcester.  The family will greet people before the Mass from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the church.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
