James Powers

MILLBURY James E. Powers, 80, of 2G Colonial Dr., formerly of West Main St., died in his home, after being stricken ill.

He leaves a sister, Margaret M. Powers of Millbury; three nieces, Susan Finne of Millbury, Deborah Bernier of Florida and Patricia Bjork of New Hampshire and two nephews, David Powers of Connecticut and Robert Powers of Millbury. He was born in Sutton and is predeceased by his parents John J. and Caroline E. (Morse) Powers and two brothers, John W. and Francis A. Powers and two sisters, Kathyn L. Adams and Barbara Fitzgerald.

Mr. Powers worked for the Millbury Highway Department, many years, before he retired. He was an Army veteran during WW II and was a member of the Charles F. Minney V.F.W. Post in Millbury.

His funeral will be held Friday March 24th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 23rd in the funeral home.
