James R. Mousseau

MILLBURY- James R. Mousseau, 80, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Care One in Millbury.

James leaves his wife of 24 years, Mary (Mailea) MacArthur Mousseau, a brother Timothy Mousseau of Glens Falls, NY, two stepsons, Steven MacArthur and his wife Amy of Rutland and James MacArthur and his wife, Jessica of Southbridge. His grandchildren; Luke, Kyle, Cole, Mark, Havana, James Jr., Ajay, Adalina, Rosalina; many nieces and nephews.

James is predeceased by his parents, Russell and Marguerite (Bruce) Mousseau, his first wife, Jean (Murray) Robidoux Mousseau, a stepdaughter, Maria Robidoux and his sister-in-law, Karen Mousseau.

James was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and served active duty for 23 years, retiring with the rank of Chief Storekeeper from October 1965 to December 1988. He was the night foreman of the cleaning crew at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough from February 1989 to June 2002, and a Sexton at First Unitarian Church in Worcester, Ma from June 2002-2012.

James was a life member and quartermaster at the Charles F. Minney WFW Post 3329 in Millbury. He was also a member of the Devoe-Taylor American Legion Post #9, Millbury Veterans Council and the First Congregational Church of Millbury, serving on church council as building and grounds chairman, was a town of Millbury poll worker and a member of Greendale retired Men’s club.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Jim’s life by gathering for a time of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Millbury, 148 W. Main Street. His funeral service will be celebrated following the visitation at 11 a.m. in the church with burial in West Millbury Cemetery.
