D'IBERVILLE,MS/SUTTON

D’Iberville, MS - Jack B. Stewart,77, passed away on Wednesday, July 8,2020 after a period of declining health and Covid complications at Gulfport Memorial Hospital, Gulfport MS. He was born in Boston, Ma. On June 24,1943.

Jack was predeceased by his parents Richard L and Gladys L Stewart, Sr. He is survived by his wife Britta Stewart of Gulfport, MS., and his sons Andrew J. Stewart (Mary) of NH. and Lee Stewart of MA., his daughter Kara Stewart (Peter Maroney) of Sutton. He also is survived by his brother Dr. Richard L. Stewart, Jr., and his sister Margaret R. Robbins (Dennis), both of Sutton.

Originally from Somerville, Ma., Jack started his education at the Brown St. School. He moved to Sutton in 1955, and Jack did well in school. He did very well in the Boy Scouts of America. He earned the privilege of becoming an Eagle Scout.

Jack was challenged by being partially deaf. He developed many friends over the years, especially his friend Steve.

He was a graduate of Sutton High School in 1962. He went on to further his education, eventually obtaining his bachelor’s degree from UMass Boston.

Brad, as he liked to be called, settled in Jamaica Plain to raise his children. Sometimes holding 2-3 jobs to support them. Eventually he became a Civil Servant working at the Mass. Dept. of Unemployment. Always civic minded, he became involved with the BSA with his sons as well as being a blood donor. He was always very proud of his blood donor pin that would say how many gallons he had given. He also was a proud member of the Free Masons.

Jack retired several years ago and moved to MS. With his wife for health reasons.

Services will be held with his sister's, Evelyn Spry.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday May 3rd from 10 to 11am followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11am in the First Congregational Church of Sutton, 307 Boston Road Sutton, Ma 01590. Burial to follow in Howard Cemetery, Sutton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Congregational Church of Sutton, 307 Boston Road Sutton, Ma 01590
