MILLBURY – Irene B. Sullivan, 95 passed away peacefully in her home late Friday evening on July 4, 2025 in the company of her youngest son, Joseph Sullivan, Jr.

Born in Millbury, the daughter of the late Joseph and Bertha (Roy) Maynard. Her husband of 66 years, Joseph T Sullivan, siblings Ernest and Robert Maynard, Marjorie Gosselin, Rita Howard, and son Craig Thomas Sullivan, preceded her.

She leaves behind three surviving children: John and his wife, Suzanne, of South Pasadena, FL; Daniel and his wife, Sandra, of Shrewsbury, MA; Joseph Sullivan, Jr., of Millbury, MA; and a daughter-in-law, Deborah Sullivan, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Irene proudly served her community as the Executive Director of the Millbury Housing Authority for seventeen years.

Irene will be remembered for her stained-glass artwork, many baked dishes, knitting, and arrangements, but most of all for her love of family.

Family and friends will honor and remember Irene’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday, July 14th, from 12:00 to 2 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be private.
