Grace E. Gasco

MILLBURY - Grace E. (Konkol) Gasco, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted friend, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, at UMASS in Worcester, Massachusetts. 

Born on April 24, 1939, in Millbury, MA, Grace lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to her family and community. Grace was the cherished daughter of Carl and Edith Konkol. She grew up in a warm family environment alongside her sisters, Beverly "Snooky" Goff and Mildred Labreck, all of whom have preceded her in death. She was married to the love of her life, Robert C. Gasco, on October 4, 1957. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared many wonderful years until Robert's passing. 

Grace is survived by her six children: sons Carl Gasco and his wife Nancy, Paul Gasco, Brian Gasco and his wife Anne, Wayne Gasco and his fiancé Marie, Bruce Gasco and his wife Tara, and her daughter, Cheryl Gasco-Swenson and her husband Harry "Jim". She was a proud grandmother to 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought joy and light to her life. Grace is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends from her social club (DoCW) whom she loved deeply, and those she met through years of volunteering and caring for others. 

Grace's career was as varied as her interests. She worked as a hairdresser, managed a laundromat and bakery counter, and provided loving care to children. Her professional life was a testament to her hardworking spirit and her ability to bring warmth and kindness to everything she did. Alongside Robert, Grace was a tireless volunteer, dedicating her time and energy to the youth of Millbury. 

From Scouting to The Millbury Youth Camp. Earning her The Millbury Lions Club's Humanitarian of the Year award. Grace's nurturing spirit touched the lives of many young people, leaving a lasting impact to them and her community. Grace's intrests included playing music, crafts and ceramics, and she was an avid gardener. Her home was always filled with colorful blooms and evidence of her artistic touch. She enjoyed cruises with her husband, and loved ones as well as spending time in Maine at "The Camp" on Frye's Island. 

Grace will be remembered as a beacon of love, kindness, creativity, dedication and strength, whose life was a testament to the power of family, community, a generous heart and will be forever cherished by all the lives she has impacted and blessed.

Family and friends will honor and remember Grace’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Saturday, August 29th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. 

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on the same day at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury with burial to follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
