WORCESTER- Gertrude G (Boomstoppel) Lassas, 79, of 138 Dorchester St., died Sunday, Sept. 1, in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester Medical Center.
Her husband, Edwin A. Lassas, died in 1976. She leaves two sons, Edwin A. Lassas and Donald B. Lasses both of Worcester; two daughters, Janet E. DiLeo of Shrewsbury and Paula J. Lasses of Maine; 8 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by a son, John D. Lasses and a brother, John Boomstoppel. She was born in Weehawken, New Jersey, daughter of John and Grace G. (Ziudema) Boomstoppel and has lived in Worcester most of her life.
Mrs. Lassas was a supervisor in the housekeeping department of the former Worcester City Hospital, where she worked for many years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of the South Worcester Congregation of JehovahTM)s Witness.
A private graveside service will be held in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury ( www.mulhane.com ).
