WORCESTER

WORCESTER - Francis "Biby" Witkowski, Sr., 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14th.

He leaves behind his 4 sons Francis Jr and his wife Sandy; Wayne Sr and his wife Jackie, all of Leicester; Paul Sr and his wife Buella of Saratoga Springs, NY and Raymond of Oxford as well as 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Born in Worcester, the son of Steven and Stella (Sokolowski) Witkowski,he joined the Army at 17 and served until his honorable discharge with the rank of Sergeant in 1954.  He became a Mason by trade and was a long time member of the Brick-Layers Union. His wife of 38 years, Janice (Flagg) Witkowski predeceased him in 1993.

Some of his favorite pastimes included spending time with his family (especially the grandkids), watching baseball, tending to his animals, growing pumpkins, and a few extra "coffee breaks".  Annual Christmas cookie making will never be the same without his critiques of how the khruchikis were made.

The family would like to thank the staff at Blaire House for all the wonderful care they gave Francis, especially during these trying times. The family also requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation the Blaire House Resident Activity Fund: 116 Houghton Street, Worcester, MA 01604 or to the Homeless Veterans Shelter, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.

Due to the current health situation, services will be private.
