Fay M. Bahmermann

SHREWSBURY

Fay M. Bahmermann (Marsden), 94, from Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025 after a short illness.

Fay leaves behind one sister, Judi Tyler from Shrewsbury; brothers Jay, Kim, Doug, and Tom Marsden, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband William C. Bahmermann, her brothers Wallace, Rand, and David Marsden, and sisters Carol Caefer and Jean Hunt.

Fay was well known for her adventurous spirit, fierce independence and strong faith. Born in Worcester, MA, she graduated from South High in 1949. At a young age, she often assisted family members both at home and away. It was then she fell in love with and moved to Philadelphia. She began her career in offices of several Philadelphia businesses. In the early 60’s she joined the Foreign Service as an executive secretary. Her two favorite assignments were at the embassies in Karachi, Pakistan and Beirut, Lebanon where she met and made many lifelong friendships.

Fay returned to the US and completed her BA in English graduating from St Joseph’s College. She then worked as an executive secretary for the Lower Marion school district where she met and married William Bahmermann. They had a wonderful life together entertaining and mentoring students, family, and friends. They enjoyed travelling and were often on the road to an Elder Hostel program or visiting picturesque places.

A private family gathering to celebrate Fay's life will be arranged at a future time.
