WORCESTER – Evelyn L. (Anderson) Magnuson-Reed, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 26th surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Worcester to Oscar E. and Edith C. (Berg) Anderson.  She lived in Millbury, Sutton and on Ramshorn Pond during the summers.

Evelyn is predeceased by her first husband, Walter L. Magnuson, Jr., her son, Craig L. Magnuson, her second husband, John G. Reed, eight siblings, Doris M. Otter, Herbert, Stanley, Milton, Irving, Carl, Lester and Oscar Jr. Anderson and a sister in law, Virginia M. Magnuson.

She leaves her daughter, Janet C. Clawson and her husband, Thomas of Millbury; a daughter in law, Lise M. Magnuson of Millbury; six grandchildren, Jeffrey E. Magnuson, Kristofer J. Clawson, Wendy L. Kendrick, Jayne E. Pierce, Julie A. Melisto and Michael P. Sullivan; six great grandchildren, Liberty I. Kendrick, Mia L. Magnuson, Maggie Bligh Pierce, Theodore E. Dorsey, Cameron A. Melito and Sean C. Melito; her godchildren, Susan E. Kolton, Margaret J. Pierce, Gary M. Anderson and Lorie K. Luyrink; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Evelyn worked many years as a realtor at Horne and Hastings Company, where she was a Million Dollar Realtor.  She was a Camp Fire Girl leader, member of the Women Auxiliary for BSA Troop 109, over 50 year member of Adah Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.  Evelyn was also active in the choir and Women’s Club of Bethlehem Covenant Church of Worcester and the First Congregational Church of Millbury.  She was also involved with the Millbury Women’s Club and Girls, Inc. committee.

Evelyn had an artistic talent with gold leaf stenciling, tole, primitive painting and painting on velvet.  She was registered as an artist of early American decorating at the Smithsonian.  Evelyn loved being involved in all things family, especially with her grandchildren.  She was an avid New England sports fan, cheering for her beloved Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics.  Music was also a passion of hers, she loved harmony, the organ, piano, the choir and the songs of Sunday school. Evelyn was devoted to her Swedish heritage and loved everything Swedish.

Family and friends will honor and remember Evelyn’s life by celebrating her funeral service on Saturday, Nov. 3rd at 11 a.m. in the Salem Covenant Church, 215 E. Mountain Street in Worcester.

There are no calling hours.  Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Covenant Church Organ Restoration Fund, 215 E. Mountain Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
