Ernest W. Bishop, Jr.

MILLBURY - Ernest W. Bishop, Jr., 92, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, at UMass Medical Center.

Ernie leaves his wife of 66 years, Carol A. (Cote) Bishop; his son Mark Bishop and partner Denise Vignalli of Dudley; his daughter Christine Tillery and her husband Michael of Auburn; three grandchildren, Nicole Ross and her husband Daniel of N. Attleboro, Andrew Tillery and Ryan Tillery of Auburn; and a sister, Barbara Monahan of Westerly, RI.

Ernie graduated from Auburn High in 1953 and Worcester Junior College. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving his country during the Korean Conflict for 4 years. Ernie worked many years in sales, retiring from Proctor and Gamble in 1994. He enjoyed playing softball, golf and skiing.

Ernie and Carol spent many years vacationing in Old Orchard Beach with his family and they both loved to travel in the United States and Europe.

Most of all, Ernie was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and remain in our hearts forever.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Ernie’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Saturday Jan. 24th 12 to 2 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 N. Main Street, Millbury, MA, 01527. 

His funeral service will be celebrated following the visitation at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

The family request flower donations be omitted and memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
