Elizabeth Childs

MILLBURY – Elizabeth M. (Scally) Childs, 98, passed away Tuesday, June 26th at the Christopher House in Worcester.

She is predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Childs.  She leaves a daughter, Joyce E. Pepka and her husband, Paul of Sutton; two sons, Jeffrey Childs and his wife, Donna of Ashby and John “Jack” Childs of Bakersfield, CA; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren.  She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents. John and Elizabeth (Taft) Scally, four brothers, John, Frank, Warren and George Scally; a sister, Edith Myers and a daughter-in-law, Robin Childs.

Elizabeth attended Millbury Federated Church and was a very active member of the Millbury Council on aging, at the Millbury Senior Center.  She also loved to dance, play bingo, travel and going to Foxwoods.

Family and friends will honor and remember Elizabeth’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Sunday, July 1st from 1 to 3 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.  Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2nd in the funeral Home and burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Millbury.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Millbury Seniors, 1 River St., Millbury, MA 01527 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
