Eleanor T. Platukis, (Dailida) 88
“When you love someone, set them free.” This I did as I kissed my Mom and told her it was ok to go and she did. Ellie left her Alzheimer’s body on September 8th at Regal Care at Worcester. She is now the free spirited, loving social butterfly that she always was again!
Eleanor was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Seskevich) Dailida. She worked as a Customer Service rep for Blue Cross Blue Shield before retiring in 1982. Not liking the lack of socialization with people, she went back to work part-time for the Builder’s Association in Worcester, MA before finally settling down to full retirement a few years later.
At that time, she enjoyed taking care of her three grandchildren, Corey, Brandon and Marissa for their pre-school years. They were her life and she enjoyed loving and spoiling them forever and a day!! She also enjoyed getting together with her closeknit group of friends to play cards and just enjoy life with them. Ellie loved to decorate for any and all seasons. Just being with family and friends was all she needed to make her happy.
Ellie is survived by her daughter, Cindy Bunnewith and her husband Gary; her brothers, John Dailida and his wife, Jeannette; and Paul Dailida and his wife, Donna. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Walter “John” Platukis and her son, Steven Platukis. She leaves the three loves of her life, her grandchildren: Corey, Brandon and Marissa Bunnewith, nieces and a nephew.
As per Ellie’s request, there will be no services and burial will be private. Also, at her request, she hoped that everyone that knew and loved her, would raise a glass and toast to her wonderful life that she had!
Donations can be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association or the Pan Mass Challenge
(donating to her loved rider: Brandon Bunnewith).
