MILLBURY

MILLBURY – Eileen M. Hamilton, 67, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 6th in her lifelong home on Main Street.

Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Thomas A. Hamilton, Jr., and Patricia M. (Donohue) Hamilton. She leaves three brothers, Thomas P. Hamilton and his wife Susan of Marstons Mills; Robert J. Hamilton and his wife Jody Barron of Framingham; and Brian J. Hamilton and his wife Debra of Douglas; two sisters, Mary Hamilton Johnson and her husband Richard of Braintree; and Monica Hamilton McCarthy and her husband Patrick of Auburn; and five nieces and two nephews: Tom’s children, Rachel (Andy) Siok of Windham, NH, Monica Hamilton (Frank Fort) of Arlington, and Julia Hamilton of Ithaca, NY; Mary’s children Robert Johnson (Brenna Kearns) of Washington, DC, and Elizabeth (Kevin) Olson, of Jamaica Plain; and Robert’s children, Lily Hamilton of Brooklyn, NY, and Jake Hamilton of Framingham, as well as six great nieces and nephews, Theo, Vivienne, Annika, Charlie, Elise, and Miriam.

Eileen is also survived by her aunts Ann Donohue, Mary Mart, and Ellen Donohue, and uncles Michael Mart and Bill Mallio, as well as many generations of cousins, and many longtime friends and neighbors.

A graduate of Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, Eileen worked for more than 25 years as a banking specialist at Millbury Federal Credit Union, where she made many friends. She loved reading, especially mystery novels, and was an avid fan of their dramatizations on PBS. She also loved puzzles and Irish/Celtic music, but her real passion was her family. Eileen kept in touch with multiple generations on both her mother’s and father’s sides and was the family historian. Whenever anyone found an old photograph and wondered who was pictured, we would say to ourselves, ‘Eileen will know.’

Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Eileen’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, August 17th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury. Burial will follow in St. Brigid Cemetery, Millbury.
