FLORIDA - Dorothy E. (Harwood) Lahna, 80, of 9049 S. E. 135th Loop, Summerfield, formerly of Tuftenboro, N.H. and Westborough, Ma., died Sunday, Sept. 1, in her home, after an illness.
She leaves her husband, Olavi M. Lahna; four sons, Warren A. Lahna of Hopkinton, Ma, Karl M. Lahna of Stuart, Fl., Earl A. Lahna of Worcester, Ma. and Eric Lahna; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, Ma., daughter of Arthur and Judith (Lofstrom) Harwood and lived in Millbury, Ma. Westborough, Ma. and New Hampshire before moving to Florida in 1999. She graduated from Millbury High School in 1940 and from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing in 1944.
Mrs. Lahna was a registered nurse for the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, before she retired in 1981. She was a member of the Worcester City Hospital Alumni Association and was a former leader for 5 years with the Worcester County 4-H Club, both in Ma. She was a member of the Community Baptist Church in Summerfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, Ma. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury, Ma.. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, in the funeral home.
