Doreen Richard

AUBURN – After a long and wonderful life, Doreen Richard, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 20 at Notre Dame Long Term Care Facility.

Doreen is survived by her two daughters, Laurie Desimone of Auburn and Janice Richard-Palacios of Madrid, Spain. She leaves four grandchildren, Jeffrey Palacios, Maria Palacios and her husband David, of Madrid, Spain, Erin Desimone-Fournier and her husband Heath of Auburn, and Jenna Beaucage and her husband Todd of Millbury. Doreen also had four great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Callie, Valentina, and Mia. Doreen is predeceased by her late mother, father, brother and sister-in law, all of Manchester, England, as well as her husband Lucian “Bob” Richard, and two sons-in-law Telé Palacios, the late husband of her daughter Janice and Alfred “Junie” Desimone, the late husband of her daughter Laurie.

Doreen, the daughter of the late Annie “Nan” and Norman Hamilton, was born in Manchester, England. She met her husband Bob, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, while he was stationed in England and the two married shortly after. Doreen, Bob and their children traveled the world together and lived in Spain, Hawaii, Colorado, New York and more before settling down in Millbury, Mass., where they enjoyed a quiet and beautifully fulfilling life. Over the years, Doreen frequently traveled to visit her friends and family in England and Spain. Doreen was a devoted wife, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all who knew her, and she firmly believed a good cup of tea could solve any problem.

Family and friends are invited to Doreen’s visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 am followed by her funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday Aug. 25th both at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main St. in Millbury.  Burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
