WORCESTER - Dolores R. (Mero) Law, 92, formerly of Millbury, passed away peacefully at home on March 11th with her family by her side.
Dolores leaves behind her loving children: a daughter, Doreen Westermark, and her husband, John and a son, Kenneth Law and his spouse, William Bushey. She is also survived by her three grandchildren: granddaughters Ashley Westermark and Anna Dzhambov, her husband, Hristo, and her grandson, Eric Westermark; as well as her cherished great-granddaughter, Emelia Dzhambov.
Dolores is predeceased by her beloved husband, George Law; her three sisters, Grace Astrella, Ida Mangiulli, and Angelina Pozzessere; and her two brothers, Frank and John Mero.
Born in Worcester, she grew up in a large family and carried those strong family traditions throughout her life.
She attended Girls’ Trade School in Worcester and worked as a seamstress before marrying George in 1953. The couple shared 62 wonderful years of marriage until his passing.
Dolores was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was caring for her family. She loved hosting gatherings in her home, especially during holidays. Even in her eighties, her home remained a place where family and friends gathered to share food, laughter, and memories.
She was well known for her cooking and baking, particularly her Italian dishes and sweets. Being the unofficial “neighborhood mother,” the neighborhood children always knew where to find the best treats.
Dolores also enjoyed traveling with family and visited many places over the years, including Hawaii, Nashville, Florida, Maine, and Cape Cod. She especially loved spontaneous Sunday road trips with her husband, who happily drove wherever the day took them.
Dolores loved shopping for clothing and dressing up. She was very stylish and you never saw her in the same outfit. Dolores enjoyed reading, going out to lunch, attending the movies, and she was a huge fan of country music. She will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, and the love she gave so freely to her family and everyone who entered her home.
Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Dolores’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday, March 18th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.
Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury. Interment will be held immediately following the Mass at Hillside Cemetery in Auburn.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame Healthcare Hospice, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester MA 01605
