MILLBURY Dennis R. Leary, 56, of 23 Manor Rd., died Monday, Sept. 26th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Linda J. (Kender) Maus Leary; a step-son, Daniel Maus of Millbury; a sister, Diana Webberly and a niece Crystal Webberly, both of Long Island, N.Y. He was born in Worcester, son of Robert L. and Rose M. (Setaro) Leary. He now joins his closest companion, his dog, Baron.
Dennis worked at UPS in Shrewsbury for 28 years. He was a Navy veteran from 1967 to 1973 and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. He was a member, Trustee and Steward of the Teamsters Local #170 and also served two terms as member of their Board of Directors. He was a member of the Navy League of the United States, the American Legion, the Charles F. Minney VFW Post in Millbury, the Central Mass Vietnan Veterans Chapter 554 and a member of many animal welfare organizations and the Audubon Society. He graduated from Millbury Memorial High School in 1968 and then from Worcester State College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1991.
A funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 30th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29th, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dog Orphans, 92 Webster St., Douglas, MA 01516.
