David G. Boire

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Gerard Boire, 67, of Millbury, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 30, 2026, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on August 2, 2026. Dave fought courageously for nearly a month, surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his strength, determination, and enduring spirit will never be forgotten.

Born on July 2, 1959, David was a lifelong resident of Millbury and a proud graduate of Millbury High School, Class of 1977. In 1979, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country, a commitment that reflected the deep patriotism he carried throughout his life.

David worked as a Class A truck driver and possessed a true entrepreneurial spirit. He was known for his strong work ethic, independence, and willingness to help others. Throughout his life, he generously supported numerous charitable causes and was always eager to contribute to fundraising events and organizations within his community.

Family was at the center of David's life. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend whose loyalty and generosity touched everyone who knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, Gloria Salois Boire ("Ma") and Archie Boire; his beloved sister, Diana Robbins; his brother-in-law, Frank Fregosi; and his cherished pets, Lil' Ricky and Chi Chi.

David leaves behind his loving siblings, Donna Fregosi of Hampton, NH; Dennis Boire of Leominster, MA; and Daniel Boire of Millbury, MA. He will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews, Nicole Cooper, Stephanie Shaw, Christina Vautour, Nathan Smith, Jennifer Comeau, Robert Boire, Madelyn Boire, and Joseph Boire, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved dog and constant companion, Lil' Donald J., as well as many cousins and dear friends who became family over the years.

David lived life to the fullest and embraced every opportunity to enjoy the things he loved. He was a familiar face on the softball field, competing in many tournaments over the years, especially with the Millbury Men's League, before later spending years umpiring the game he loved. He treasured time spent at his camp in Kennebunk, Maine, and at Hampton Beach, where he enjoyed lobster dinners, laughter with family and friends, and making lasting memories by the coast. David could often be found riding his motorcycle, participating in charity motorcycle runs, playing in charity golf tournaments, or attending live music shows.

He found great happiness tending to his gardens and caring for his chickens, affectionately known as his "girls." A devoted New England sports fan, David rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on the Patriots and looked forward to football season, especially participating in football pools with his sister Donna. He also cherished holidays spent with family, particularly Christmas, when he enjoyed prime rib dinners, Yankee Swap traditions, and the time spent together with loved ones.

Those who knew David will remember his unwavering loyalty, generosity, sense of humor, and deep love for family and friends. He was the person who would show up when someone needed help, lend a hand without hesitation, and make everyone feel welcome. His legacy is one of friendship, kindness, patriotism, and living life with passion and purpose.

Family and friends will honor and remember David’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday, Sept. 7th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept 8th at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Assumption, 12 Waters Street, Millbury with burial to follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury. All those attending the Funeral Mass are asked to go directly to the church.

In honor of David's memory, family and friends are encouraged to spend time with those they love, support a charitable cause, enjoy the simple pleasures of life, and never take a day for granted.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
