Cynthia P. Vassar

MILLBURY - Cynthia (Laukaitis) Vassar, 77, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Cindy leaves behind her devoted husband of 57 years, Richard Vassar; her daughter Deborah Bara and her husband James of Douglas; and her cherished grandchildren Brandon Bara, Amanda Bara, Jack Courville, Olivia Courville, and her great-grandson Benjamin Courville. She is predeceased by her beloved daughter Karen Courville. Cindy also leaves behind many brothers and sisters, and a large extended family who loved her dearly.

Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Cindy graduated from Commerce High School. She built a fulfilling career, working at Pleasant Valley Country Club and later as an Account Supervisor at Worcester Envelope, where she was known for her dedication and warm professionalism.

Cindy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid golfer, and treasured time spent with her family in Maine. She especially loved traveling with Richard to Myrtle Beach and St. Martin, creating memories filled with sunshine and laughter.

Cindy’s life was marked by her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. She will be remembered for her warm heart, her gentle spirit, and the deep bonds she nurtured with those around her. Her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to honor and remember Cindy’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Thursday, Sept. 25th from 5 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. 

Her funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, Sept 26th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
