Clarence Chase

SUTTON - Clarence H. Chase, 84, of 33 Boston Rd., died Wednesday, Dec. 19 in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester Medical Center, Worcester.

His wife, Helen B. (Pianowski) Chase died in 1994. He leaves a son, Ronald C. Chase of Sutton: two brothers, Raymond N. Chase of Florida and Norman B. Chase of Sutton; three sisters, Evelyn Taylor of Northbridge, Lucille McGowan of Uxbridge and Audrey Vandal of West Springfield; a granddaughter; nephews and nieces. He was born in Sutton, son of Benjamin A. and Eva (Mathieu) Chase and has lived in Sutton most of his life. He attended Sutton Schools and was an Army veteran during WW II serving in Pacific Theater in the Anti-Aircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion.

Mr. Chase owned and operated C. H. Chase Co. many years, retiring in 1994. He previously worked 30 years at the Felters Company in Millbury.

He was a former fire fighter with the Sutton Fire Department Company 3. He was a charter member of the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post and a life member of the Charles F. Minney Veterans of Foreign ars Post in Millbury.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 22, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigids Church, 59 Main St. Millbury . Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association of Central Mass. Inc., 1 Abbey Lane, Middleboro, Ma. 02346.
