Claire H. Malky

MILLBURY – Claire H. (Duquette) Malky, 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, January 12th, surrounded by her loving family.

Claire leaves behind her loving husband of 67 years, Joseph Malky; her twin daughters Diane Buffone and Donna Matson; Diane’s husband Paul and their three children Kristin, Rachel and Jack, Rachel’s husband Tucker and their son Benjamin; Donna’s husband Chris and their two children Emily and Elizabeth and Elizabeth’s husband Luke; Claire’s sister Aline Peters, along with many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents Alphonse Duquette and Blanche (Lemay) Duquette, brothers Richard and Raymond Duquette, sisters Lillian Bechard and Theresa McFarlane.

Claire lived a long and happy life. She was born and raised in Rhode Island and moved to Massachusetts shortly after marrying Joe. After retiring from AE Burgess Leather Company, she and Joe began traveling. They loved going on bus trips, traveling across the United States, and loved traveling internationally, always making friends along the way. Claire loved to play cards and every Friday could be found at the Sutton Senior Center with her card friends. She was known for her sense of humor and always made everyone feel special and loved. She often referred to her daughter’s friends as her extra daughters.

Family and friends will honor and remember Claire’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Tuesday, January 20th from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury. 

Her funeral service will be celebrated following the visitation at noon in the funeral home with burial in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
