DUDLEY

DUDLEY- Barbara Lee (Richards) Denesowicz, 73, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on May 20th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Barbara found pleasure in the simple things in life, whether it was cheering on the New England Patriots, shopping, spending time with her family, or just drinking an ice-cold diet coke. She especially loved spending time at her home in Aruba with the love of her life Thomas. Barbara valued time with her family more than anything. She enjoyed spending quality time with her granddaughter Madeline.

Whether it was just running errands, or a planned activity, they always shared lots of laughs and love. Barbara also cherished the close relationship she had with her nephew Joshua, as well as his wife Miranda and their children.

Barbara grew up in Lunenburg MA and later moved to Leominster MA, working as an insurance agent for Anderson, Bagley and Mayo. Barbara was a hardworking businesswoman who diligently worked for her accomplishments. After many years working behind the counter at Dunkin Donuts, while her husband baked donuts in the kitchen, together they invested and opened their first Dunkin Donut franchise in 1987 in Auburn MA. They then continued to expand their franchise throughout the Worcester County area.

Barbara leaves behind her husband of 39 years Thomas Denesowicz. Thomas was not only her husband but also her travel buddy, best friend and business partner. She also leaves behind her son James Gingras and his fiancé Cheri Charpentier of Bristol RI; a sister Patricia Robinson and her husband James Robinson of Franklin MA; a nephew Joshua Ellis and his wife Miranda Ellis; of Charlton MA, along with their three children Charlie Ellis, Lily Hollis, and Gracie Hollis; two granddaughters Madeline Gingras of Dudley MA and Antoinette Stewart-Gingras of Uxbridge MA. Along with several nieces and nephews.

Barbara is predeceased by her parents Rita (Royer) Richards and Hugh Richards, and her sister Judith Ellis.

Funeral services and burial will be private. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute at danafarber.jimmyfund.org
