SUTTON – On August 7,2024, Alan Berthiaume, 73, passed away quietly at his home that he shared with his wife, Janice (Stellman) Berthiaume. They would have celebrated their 46th anniversary in a few weeks.

Besides his wife, Alan is survived by his two daughters who he loved dearly, Jessica of Hudson MA, and Sara of Los Angeles CA. He leaves behind his brother Ralph Berthiaume of Worcester, and his three sisters Ann Berthiaume of Worcester, Irene Ross of Westboro and Celine Berthiaume of Methuen as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ralph and Beatrice Berthiaume.

Alan was best known for his great sense of humor, love of ice hockey, and caring for his house and yard. He played in the Auburn Men’s Leagues for over 40 years. He was also well-known as a hockey referee for Seacoast Hockey Officials in Men’s leagues all over Central Massachusetts.

Alan grew up in Auburn and served in the US. Navy during the Vietnam conflict. He then graduated from Worcester State University where he played on the men's baseball team, and Newbury College in Boston. He worked many years as a Business Education teacher in Oxford and Worcester schools at the High school level until he became a radio personality on stations WESO in Southbridge, and WCRN in Worcester.

He loved interviewing sports and political personalities on his radio shows.

Alan loved going to Woosox games with Janice on Friday nights for the fireworks display, and going on day trips all around New England. He loved watching the Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics, as well as any sports on TV.

Alan especially loved taking his dog, Bentley for a walk every night.
