Robert B. Nordstrom, 91 died Tuesday, Nov. 21st at St. Francis Home in Worcester.
He leaves his wife, Alice H. (Braney) Nordstrom; two sons, Robert E. Nordstrom and his wife, Sheril of Uxbridge and William B. Nordstrom and his wife, Sandra of Millbury; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Foley and her husband, Jay of Uxbridge, Kyle Nordstrom of Longview, TX, Sarah Beth Nordstrom of Denton, TX, Erik Nordstrom and his wife, Anna of Seatle, WA, Mark Nordstrom of Millbury, Stephane Ljunaggren and her husband, Jim and Jamie Panzyk and his wife, Tammie of Oxford; nine great grandchildren, Sam, Trevor, Alex, Josuha, Ariel, Benjamin, Lucia Alice, David and Jessie; two brothers, Helge Nordstrom and his wife, Helen formerly of Shrewsbury and Carl Nordstrom and his wife, Carol of Charlton; two sisters, Alice U. Nordstrom and Ethel Swedberg both of Worcester; a sister-in-law, Ruth Nordstrom of Charlton; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Carl J. and Edith C. (Westlund) Nordstrom, two sisters, Hulda Peliquin and Ester Thompson and a brother, Hilding Nordstrom.
Robert worked at the former New England High Carbon Wire Company in Millbury for 20 years and then at Nordstrom Associates in Shrewsbury before he retired. He was a Navy veteran during WW II serving with the 144th Sea Bee Battalion. He was a former Millbury Little League Coach and a former Deacon at the Millbury Federated Church. As a child he sang with the Crusaders Boys Choir.
Family and friends will honor and remember Robert’s life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, Nov. 24th from 5 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Robert’s funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25th in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury.
