Leo Rogers

January 3, 1922 — June 13, 2002

MILLBURY - Leo Rogers, 80, of 4 Benton St., died Thursday, June 13, in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester Medical Center, Worcester, after being stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Josephine A. (Mikelonis ) Rogers; two sons, Joseph Rogers and James Rogers both of Millbury; a daughter, Kathleen Wilson of Laconia, N.H.; nine grandchildren; a great grandson: nephews and nieces. A son Leo Rogers Jr. died in 1964. He was born in Newton, son of John and Sarah (Granahand) Rogers and he has lived in Millbury for 50 years.

Mr. Rogers was a machine operator and a shop stewart at the Felters Co. where he worked for 30 years, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of the Northbridge Rod and Gun Club in Northbridge. He was an avid gardener and fisherman.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 17, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., ( www.mulhane.com ). Burial will be in Central Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 16, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, Massachusetts Affiliate, 1 Bromfield St., 5th Floor, Boston, Ma. 02108.
