Albertine "Allie" (LeMay) Putnam, 95, of West Sutton died on January 4, 2015 at St. Camillus Health Center in Whitinsville.

Allie was the daughter of Adelard and Mary (Loughlin) LeMay. Her husband, of 53 years, Barry B. Putnam died in 1990. She was preceded by her two brothers, Adelard and Jean LeMay, her son Duncan F. Putnam, and her son-in-law Raymond Smith.

Allie leaves her daughter; Gretel Smith of Sutton who cared for her as she aged and a son Barry Putnam and his wife Helen of Cambridge, ME. Allie was a cherished grandmother to five; Robin Casey and her husband Dana of South Berwick, ME, Douglas Putnam and his wife Kim of Woodstock, CT, Peter Smith and his wife Robin of Mendon, MA, Patricia Couture and her husband James of Oxford, MA, and Thomas Smith and his husband William Glazer of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 15 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Rachael LeMay of Enosburg Falls, VT and many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Worcester and lived most of her life in Whitinsville and Sutton. At the time of her passing, Allie was the oldest living member of the Hillside Club of West Sutton where she was a member for more than 60 years. She worked at Sprague Electric and Micro-network for several years after her children were grown but mostly Allie's life was devoted to supporting and caring for her family. In her later years she continued to enjoy and care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will all miss her and cherish the memories they shared with her. She could always be seen working in the garden or on her property in West Sutton. Her spry energy, great cooking, and laugh will be missed.

Please join Allie's family in a celebration of her life on Friday, Jan. 9th at 2 p.m. in Mulhane Funeral Home, 45 Main Street in Millbury.

A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Camillus Health Center c/o Memory Care Neighborhood Fund, 447 Hill Street, Whitinsville, MA 01588.
